Recent Accomplishments
In October 2007, Pearl Street structured a $100-million asset-backed securities (ABS) transaction collateralized by a blind pool of venture debt and lease instruments on behalf of Velocity Financial Group, an affiliate of American Capital Strategies (NYSE symbol ACAS). In the Velocity transaction, the debt securities were secured by venture-related assets and were rated investment grade.
In March 2008, Pearl Street structured a $150-million debt facility for Horizon Technology Finance Management LLC which was collateralized by a predominantly blind pool of venture debt investments. Using its database and forecasting tools, Pearl Street created a risk rating profile that delivered superior pricing and a exceptional advance rate on the collateral.
In both venture debt transactions, Pearl Street has built custom risk-evaluation models used to monitor the management and performance of the portfolios.
